FlatoutATC 2.5.0 — Release Notes
Released 2026-06-07 (build 51)
WHAT'S NEW
New level: "Manhattan Helicopter Operations" — a helicopter-only sector over New York City. Three heliports (Downtown / East 34th / West 30th), three hospital rooftop helipads (NYU Langone, Cornell, Mt Sinai), and helicopter traffic to and from six outer airports (Newark, JFK, LaGuardia, Teterboro, Morristown, Trenton-Mercer). The level introduces two new gameplay rules: real building-altitude collision over Midtown (using public NYC PLUTO building-height data) and layered Class B airspace bust detection. All rules are covered in an on-screen brief that auto-shows on first entry and is re-openable from the help (?) button in the chrome.
Save & Resume — backgrounding or closing the app mid-game now writes the game state to local storage. On next launch a "Resume previous game?" modal restores the in-progress level — every aircraft position, score, camera, and weather state — and the game starts paused so the player can orient before play resumes. Storage is local-only (the app's Documents directory) and cleared when the player completes the level, returns to the menu, or chooses Discard at the resume prompt.
Polish + bug fixes — helicopter Direct-To onto a helipad or airport now correctly engages the autoland (previously the helicopter flew through the pad), data tags and the radial command menu stay readable at zoom-out, the destination runway pulses on the wind-preferred runway only, and the manual Pause button (plus background → resume) no longer accidentally expires emergency timers.
