USS Carrier, Rebuilt (Coming in 3.6)
Last updated 2026-10-07
Captured 2026-10-07 from a 3.6 beta build on iPad Pro 13-inch (M5), on the USS Carrier (CARRIER) level.
The USS Carrier level is rebuilt for 3.6 around what makes a carrier different: the deck moves. The ship sails across Long Island Sound and turns when it reaches the edge of its box, and the places where its aircraft wait move with it.
Marshal is the new command. Tap it on a fighter and the fighter joins the holding stack behind the ship, ten miles back at four thousand feet, with each new fighter a mile further out and a thousand feet higher. Tap it on a helicopter and it holds in the delta, a holding point beside the ship. When the deck is clear, bring the lowest fighter in with Intercept LOC. It descends on the way, and inside five miles you tap Land.
A board on the radar shows the deck's state, the stack, the delta, the aircraft on final and the recoveries so far, with a square for each fighter's landing grade. Two minutes before the ship turns, the radio says so and the board counts down. The deck closes for the turn, and afterwards the stack forms up behind the ship on its new course.
What to look for in the clip:
- 0:03 The opening at 1x. The camera stays locked on the ship as it sails.
- 0:07 Marshal on a fighter, and the stack's ticks behind the ship.
- 0:12 Marshal on a helicopter, which holds in the delta.
- 0:18 Zoomed out to show the whole stack along the ship's course.
- 1:11 From here a scripted stand-in plays the shift at 4x. It marshals each arrival, brings the lowest fighter in with Intercept LOC, clears it to land between three and five miles out, and sends the helicopters to the deck one at a time when it is clear. When the delta is full, or a fighter's way to the stack crosses traffic, Marshal is refused, and the stand-in asks again a few seconds later, so you hear more refusals than a player would.
- 2:03 Each square under Recoveries is one fighter's grade. After this the clip runs at 8x for two minutes to reach the ship's first turn.
- 4:16 Back at 4x, with the stand-in stopped and the camera wider. At 5:41 the radio gives the two minutes' warning and the board counts down. The ship starts to turn at 6:11, the deck is closed until 6:26, and then the stack forms up behind the ship on its new course.
The start of a Novice shift. The ship sits in the middle of the scope with its helicopter pad, Deck Spot 1, and its approach course runs out behind it. The board at the top right reads Deck ready, with one fighter in the stack and one helicopter in the delta.

Marshal on a fighter: "NVY597, marshal one zero miles astern, angels four." The ticks along the course behind the ship mark the stack's levels, angels 4 nearest the ship and angels 9 furthest out.

Marshal on a helicopter: "HELI174, hold in the delta, one thousand."

Zoomed out, the stack runs back along the ship's course. NVY597 holds at angels 4, the bottom of the stack, so it is the next fighter in.

At 4x, NVY354 is cleared to land and on final. The board already shows the first recovery as a yellow square, a Fair grade: NVY597's landing clearance came late, inside three miles.

Two recoveries now, yellow for Fair and green for OK. A helicopter is landing on the deck's pad, two more hold in the delta, and the next fighter waits in the stack at angels 4.

At the edge of its box the ship gives two minutes' warning: "Mother turning to two six zero in two minutes." The board's light turns orange and it counts down.

Mid-turn. The board reads Deck closed, and the approach course swings round with the ship. The deck stays closed until the ship is steady on its new course.

Steady on two six zero: "Marshal now one zero miles astern, course two six zero." The wind over the deck has turned with the ship, the board is back to Deck ready, and the stack's ticks now trail east, behind the new course. NVY202, still on the west side, has to fly back across to its slot.

Five game minutes later, NVY202 is nearly at its slot east of the ship, and the two helicopters in the delta hold on the ship's new starboard side, one above the other.
