Arnsberg-Menden and Radar Fixes, Video (3.5 Beta)
Last updated 2026-09-25
Captured 2026-09-25 from a 3.5 beta build on iPad Pro 13-inch, on the Arnsberg-Menden (EDLA) level.
Arnsberg-Menden joins the Around the World shelf in 3.5, and this one-minute clip flies it with the other changes from the board thread: labels that no longer print on top of each other, realistic altitude ceilings that the altitude picker respects, and a runway picker that leaves the radar in view on iPad.
What to look for in the clip:
- 0:00 Arnsberg-Menden at 2x: Dortmund to the west, Soest to the northeast, the Möhnesee east of the field and the Sauerland to the south.
- 0:06 Zooming in on the field. The ADEMI fix sits 0.4 NM west of the runway; its name, the field's own label and the runway 05 number now each keep their own space.
- 0:14 Zooming out over the whole area. Waypoint names keep their size, Meschede shows its field elevation (1436 ft), and the terrain heights thin out instead of piling up.
- 0:25 A regional jet inbound to Dortmund. At 0:29 the altitude picker opens on its 38,000 ft clearance and the scale stops at 41,000 ft, this jet's ceiling. The picker used to stop at 20,000 ft for every aircraft, and a regional jet could only reach 18,000.
- 0:35 Cleared to 41,000 ft: the readback is "climb and maintain 41000 feet" and the data tag shows the climb (played at 4x).
- 0:43 The runway list for a landing clearance opens as a panel at the left edge, with the destination, Dortmund 24, at the top. The radar and the aircraft stay in view.
- 0:53 The Sauerland in the 3D view.
Ships in 3.5.
